High Heeled or Flat Bridal Shoes
If you ask a bride to be whether she would like to walk the aisle in high heeled bridal shoes or a pair of flat bridal shoes, chances are that eight out of ten times she is going to say high heeled. Why do most brides prefer a high heeled pair of bridal shoes? The reason that most of the brides quote is that it makes them look taller, more elegant and slimmer. Yes, it might be true. But do you pay for this style and beauty with discomfort?
This concept that heels make you look more beautiful has been popularized by the fashion industry. You find celebrities walking in heels and naturally the desire to be like them comes along. But have you thought of what your wedding day has in store? It includes a couple of hours standing for the wedding ceremony. It includes hours of standing and walking around greeting and meeting friends and family at the reception and not to forget the dance. Imagine yourself in those high heels for the whole day. Do you already feel tired? Don’t you think your feet are going to hurt?
You might say, it’s my special day and I need to look elegant and nice. But do you want to spend your special day in pain with blisters on your feet? Imagine not being able to get up for the dance because your feet are sore. You know heels how those heels can make you feel uncomfortable.
These days you get beautiful and elegantly designed low heeled and flat shoes. So you don’t have to compromise on style by wearing a flat pair of bridal shoes. It would be better to wear one of the classy flat pair of shoes than to trip and slip and fall with the high heeled shoes.
Well, there is a middle path you could choose. Buy two pairs of bridal shoes. One pair with those high heels you have been dreaming about all along and the other a pair of flats. You could use the high heeled pair of bridal shoes for your wedding ceremony. You could look tall and elegant as you walk down the aisle. The wedding ceremony would last a maximum of couple of hours. And that will not hurt you much. Then for the reception and the dance you could change into the more comfortable flat pair.
It would also be a good idea if you could practice walking around in your high heeled pair of bridal shoes for a few weeks before the wedding. This way you would break in as well as get used to the heels. Also make sure to polish the sole of the shoes with sand paper for better grip.
Well, if you have a beach wedding then and high heels are a big no-no. Not only will they be difficult to walk with on the sand but they probably won’t go along with the rest of the setting. So think and choose and never compromise your comfort.
