Making your own bridal shoes
When you spend so much time getting everything in perfect order for the wedding, do not forget the shoes. This is one area that usually tends to get neglected. One might feel the shoes aren’t going to show from under the dress and don’t pay much attention to it. Another reason could be the lack of variety available in the market for bridal shoes.
Usually you find the bride wearing plain satin pumps. Well, there is good news. Your bridal shoes need not look plain and ordinary. You can make them look unique, classy and special. You just need a little creativity and a few decoration items. You could create your own perfect wedding shoes. It will be nice to buy a simple dyeable white pair of shoes. This way you could even dye your shoes to match the color of your gown perfectly. Or you could try and get the perfect colored shoes.
Next comes the very interesting part of decorating your shoes. Use sequins, pearls, ribbons, silk flowers and lace to make those beautiful pair of shoes. Look at what is the work on your gown. If they have pearls and tulle, you could decorate your shoes with pearls and tulle ribbons or rosette. If your gown has lace, then you could use lace on your shoes too. They will look so well coordinated and everyone would feel you have specially designed shoes. You could also match the decorations to the jewelry you would be wearing for the wedding.
The decorations can be done such that they are permanent or temporary. If you want the decorations to stay forever on the shoes, you could use a hot glue gun to fix the decorations on to the shoe. If you would prefer to have the decorations removed after the wedding, it would be better to use shoe clips. Shoe clips are available in most specialty shoe shops or crafts stores that deal with bridal decorations.
When using shoe clips use fabric or cardboard. This is fixed on the shoe clip. The base fabric is completely decorated leaving no space. Then the shoe clip is clipped on to the shoe. Once you need the decorations to be removed, you just need to remove the shoe clips.
The decorations including the pearls and sequins, ribbons and rosettes, lace and small flowers are usually put across the front toe area of the shoes. The back around the heel of the shoes are also decorated. If your shoe has a strap even it could be delicately decorated. But there is no hard and fast rule. If you want you could decorate the entire shoes. Make sure you decorate both shoes exactly alike so that the pair looks identical.
When it could be as easy as this, why should the bride ignore her shoes? They are a part of her entire attire and should be given importance. She could wear the perfect pair of shoes that match with the rest of her attire. Maybe she will not find a shoe like the one she made anywhere in the market. It is her very own unique creation.
